Express Scribe is a professional software used to control the playback of sound, which is designed to assist and support the transcription of audio recordings.

The program must be installed on the computer of the person who's typing (ie running the transcript), and you can control it via keyboard combinations or directly with a transcription pedal. These are some of the most notable features of Express Scribe:

     * Plays compressed WAV files.

     * Variable speed playback.

     * Allows you to use pedals to control transcripts, but you can also use keyboard combinations.
